Charles D Matthews

The Man. Charles Daniels Matthews 74 was born in Texarkana Texas October 30, 1944 to James Jimmie Matthews and Ella Matthews Galbreath the Oldest Brother out of 13 Children.

Charles was a hard worker, strong, physically and morally with compassion. Love for his fellow man. Wisdom beyond book learning.
He served his country with pride and dignity. He was loved by all who knew him.

Charles was a retired Army Veteran who serve for over 19 years.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, grandparents, Dan & Cornellia Mathews. His father, James Mathews, mother, Lula Mathews, brothers Glenn, James Jr., Londell, Leo. Sisters Ledora Davis, Betty Jean White, Bobby Jo Wingo, and Marion Prayer
He is survived by one brother, Joe Mathews (Ava) of Tulsa, OK, two sisters, Willie Jo Mathews and Glory Helen Mathews both of Seattle, WA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Mathews family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all that loved our Charles. D. Mathews.

A Graveside Funeral Service with an Army Honors Team is set for 2: 00 pm Monday April 22, 2019 at Williamston Cemetery.
Interment will follow in the Military section of the cemetery.
