Calvin S Hinds

Calvin Hinds was born to Margarett M. (Trice) Hinds and David Hinds Sr. on August 27, 1951, in Guthrie, OK. He transitioned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

He attended Langston Elementary and graduated from Guthrie High School. He met Earma F. Washington and on April 30, 1973, they were married in Perry, OK. They were united in marriage for over 49 years. Calvin and Earma were blessed in their unity with one child. Calvin loved horses; he hunted, fished, and farmed with his father from youth to adulthood. He worked after school breaking horses, training race horses and worked at a furniture factory in Guthrie. He worked at Renald Wilson, Good Year, and Weyerhaeuser for many years.

Calvin is proceeded in death by his parents Margarett and David; grandparents Alice and Cal Trice; Cicero and Addie Hinds; sister Lena White and mother-in-law Carrie B. Washington, who he lovingly referred to as Grandma; two brothers-in-law, and 4 sisters-in-law.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Earma Hinds of the home, his dedicated child Eloria Hinds Idabel, OK, his loving granddaughter Tyler (Devin) Neal Texarkana, TX, and his adored great-grandson Rocket Neal Texarkana, TX. Also his sister Barbara Johnson Edmond, OK, his four brothers David (Tamira) Hinds II Edmond, OK; Marvin (Ruby) Hinds Norman, OK; Walter Hinds Norman, OK; one special brother Delton Trice Langston, OK; aunt Royce Jones Langston, OK. Three brothers-in-law Arnett (Doris) Washington Kansas, MO; James (Earnestine) Washington Houston, TX. Pastor John H. Scott (Jacquelyn) Yukon, OK.; three sisters-in-law, Mary Duckett Idabel, OK; Earnestine (James) Washington Houston, TX., and Geneva Richard (Mark) Macon, MO., Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 am until 4:30 pm at Nunley Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 am.

Calvin will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery.
