Billy Joe Shoals

Billy Joe Shoals was born March 5, 1944 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Luther Lee Shoals Sr. and late Lois (Scott), Shoals. He departed this life Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Samrayburn Memorial Veteran Center in Bonham, TX.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Shoals, and brother, Billy Ray Shoals.

Billy graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1962. While in high school, he played the saxaphone in the school band. After high school, he went to Okmulgee Tech., where he studied Diesel Mechanics for 3 years. In 1965, he joined the U.S. Army, and obtained the rank of Sp4. He was released from the Military with a Medical Discharge in 1969. He then returned to Okmulgee Tech., and completed studies in Auto Body Repair and Painting. He worked in this field for 10 years.

Billy never married. He lived at the Samrayburn Memorial Veteran Center in Bonham, TX for the last 6 -7 years.
Billy leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Luther L. Shoals Sr; four sisters, Donna F. Givens, Gwendolyn G. Mainor (Clarence), Delois Holloman (Victor), and Linda R. Shoals; four brothers, Lonnell, Shoals, Larry Shoals (Lucy), Charley Odell Shoals, and Luther Shoals Jr.; host of Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral arrangements are set for 1:00 pm Saturday November 7th 2015 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Rutherford officiating.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel
