Billy Joe Johnson was born December 6, 1940 in DeKalb, Texas to Ocie and Pinkie (Wharry) Johnson. He passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma.
He lived in Lawton, Oklahoma for a time before returning to Idabel. Billy Joe worked in various saw mills throughout his working career.
Billy was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Billy Joe leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Sharon of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Hazel Ingram Nary of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two sister-in-laws, Debra (Donnell) Johnson and Shirley (Eugene) Johnson, both of Horatio, Arkansas; best friend, Sandra Martin of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services are set for 11 am Saturday July 5, 2014 at Mt. Sinai Church of God and Christ with Brother William Cooper officiating.
Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery DeKalb, TX.
