Arvella Lane Burris was born July 2, 1947, to Ira. Lane and Dr. William McCaskill in Idabel, Oklahoma.
Arvella lived parts of her life in Harris and Broken Bow Oklahoma and later returned to Idabel, Oklahoma. She graduated from Brooker T. Washington High School and was a proud member of the cheerleading squad. She married her high school sweetheart Ray Burris and they had two beautiful children Desiree and Frederick. Arvella was a hard worker at the local Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Her customer service skills and ability to connect with people, motivated her to open her own business. "Fred's Beverage Store & Car Wash". She would later become a certified nurse assistant as she enjoyed helping others.
Arvella was also a fashionista who took pride in her appearance, sporting an array of fabrics, jewelry, shades, and hats. She loved looking her best and was definitely one to be recognized.
Whether you were a lifelong friend, family member, or a stranger, she quickly helped you realize that she was a passionate advocate for her second amendment rights.
Arvella Burris departed this life on Thursday, June 10, 2021. She is preceded in death by her mother Ira Lane, father William McCaskill, and sister Clara Bible.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one daughter Desiree Hunter of Oklahoma City, OK, one son Frederick (Tresa) Burris of Choctaw, OK, one grand-daughter Ashley (Chris) Harper of McKinney, TX, one great-grand-daughter Rayne Harper of McKinney, TX, two nephews Charles (Carol) Bible of Houston, TX, Royce Bible of Idabel, OK, one great-nephew Garron Bible of Brooklyn, NY, and two great-nieces, Adriene Bible, of Houston, TX and Shanna Lynn Bible of Midwest City, OK.
A Graveside Service is set for 11 am on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Williamston Cemetery with Rev. Jimmie Williams officiating.
Interment will follow.
