Anthaneta "Mikey" Fulsom


Life: Anthaneta Fulsom was born July 8, 1955 in Little Rock, AR to James Buford and Lula Mae Brown. She was the third born of five children. She met and married Melvin Fulsom. They were the proud parents of six children.


Education: Mikey attended elementary school in the Oklahoma City Public Schools District.  She attended and graduated from Haworth High School in Haworth, OK. Mikey attended Central State University in Edmond, OK and also OCCC in Oklahoma City where she received an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies. She also attended Langston University in Oklahoma City.


Christianity: Mikey professed a deep and unwavering love for Christ that radiated throughout her life relationships. Her mission was to enlighten the world about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She wore many hats during her Christian walk and was very instrumental in evangelism. She was a witness and as a result, many people gave their life to Christ. Mikey was a faithful member of Christian Faith Fellowship.


Employment: Mikey's first job was as a teacher's aide in the Head start Program at Haworth Elementary school. She worked for years at National Can Bottling Company. She was also secretary to the Dean of Students, Dr. Smith, at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she became Assistant Director of the National Eagle Ridge Sports Summer Program. Mikey worked as a counselor at the Phoenix Recovery Institute. She also worked as a counselor at North Care, an outpatient behavioral health organization.


Preceding her in death: her son, Aaron Fulsom, her parents James Buford and Lula Mae Brown, her grandson Christian Johnson, her great-grandson Caine Hudson, and her brother, Walter Marks.


Here to cherish her memories: Children: One daughter; Trudie (James) Johnson of Midwest City, OK, Four sons; Melvin (Alice) Fulsom of Springdale, AR, Allen (Jamie) Fulsom of Russellville, AR, Najee Fulsom of Hominy, OK, and J. B. Brown (Shuvonda) of Killeen, TX.


Siblings: Brothers, Marvin (Crystal) Brown of Oklahoma City, OK, and Ray Charles (Thelma) Brown of Midwest City, OK, Sisters; Vanessa Smith (Ray) of Idabel, OK and Eyvonne (Alvin) Fulsom of Midwest City, OK. And, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends,


Close Family Friends: Willie Thornton and Jennifer Amoah Owusu


Mrs. Fulsom's service is set for 11 am,  Saturday, March 3, 2019 at Community Missionary Baptist
Church Tom, Oklahoma with Pastor Roy L. Barlow, officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt Zion Cemetery, Tom, OK.
