Alvie Lee Alberty

July 25, 1950 — June 14, 2016

Alvie Lee "Cooney" Alberty was born on July 25, 1950 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Richard and Christmas Alma Alberty. He departed this life on June 14, 2016 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma.

Alvie attended Booker T. Washington High School through his junior year. Due to the desegregation of schools in 1968, he matriculated to Idabel Gray High School for his senior year and graduated in 1969. He then attended Oklahoma State Technical College in Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he majored in jewelry repair. Alvie was employed as a supervisor at SonRay Industries in Idabel until the business closed its doors. His favorite past-time was playing dominoes with friends at Booker T. Washington Community Center.

Alvie was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Christmas Alberty. Three brothers, Orrie, Richard, and Marlin. And grandson, Jermiah White.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Mary. Five daughters, Alviesha Davis, Nashville, Tennessee; Angela T. Young and Alma Jean Alberty, Idabel; Yulecia Alberty and Ashly Alberty, Texarkana, Texas. Three brothers, James Alberty and Larry (Cassandra) Alberty, Grant, Oklahoma, Isiaah (Nicole) Alberty, Paris, Texas. Six sisters, Mary Maxwell, Linda Brown, Alma Alberty, Beatrice Royal, Wyoming McDonald, and Jean (David) Warhop, all of Idabel.

Also remembering him are his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Cutina Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Rose Hill Baptist church in Idabel.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery in Idabel.
