Albert Otis Johnson

Albert Otis Johnson was born on November 17, 1951 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Oscar and Marie Johnson. He departed this life on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He graduated from Idabel Gray High School in 1971. Soon after, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was based in North Carolina.  In August of 1973, he wed Brenda Allen. Albert was employed as an electrician with Choctaw Electric Cooperative and retired after more than 20 years of service with the company.

Albert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Reather M. Johnson; brothers, Charles, Ernest, and Ervin; daughter, Shaquanta Johnson; and granddaughter, Jasrael Jackson.

Remembering Albert with fond memories are: Daughters, Sheleatha Johnson and Shytoria (DaShon) Jackson, both of Idabel. (Their mother, Brenda Allen Johnson.) Daughters, Romika Beard and Ciaria Beard, both of Idabel. (Their mother, and his longtime companion, Rosie Beard.) Step-daughter, Kapri (Darwin) Threatt of Idabel. Grandchildren, Davasia, Alicia, Kavari, Tearsney, Corjae, Jakovi, JaNauri, Kingston, and Jaylee. Great-grandchildren, Amari and Daya. Brother, Robert (Lula) Johnson of Idabel. Sister, Dollie (Mitchell) Murphy of Idabel.  Also, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18 ^th at 11 A.M. at First Baptist Westside with Rev. Kevin Haywood, officiating.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel.
